Ion Beam Modification of Polymer Films

Research objectives focus on modifying and analyzing polymer films with ion beams. Polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC) and polyethylene (PE) have been studied to some extent and proposed polymers include polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and polyethersulfone (PES). PPS and PES are chosen due to the sulfur constituent, a known polymer cross-linking agent. Results of this current research have been presented and discussed at various scientific conferences:
